Indirect Fundraising at East Side Elementary

Help raise easy money for East Side Elementary School!   It costs you nothing except participation!   Schools the size of East Side often generate $15,000 a year by fully participating in these indirect fundraising programs.   REMEMBER--start participating NOW! The potential for East Side is fantastic. These programs operate all year round and anyone can participate. So pass the word on to friends, neighbors, and relatives!

Listed below are the various ways you can help. If you have any questions, please contact Allison Marshall via email at bamaberto@comcast.net

Kroger Earning Plus Learning

Kroger's Earning Plus Learning program is a great way to support East Side when you shop for groceries.   To begin earning funds for East Side, please link to the Kroger site http://www.krogerearningpluslearning.com/pdf/10000090496.pdf and follow the directions provided.   You must re-register each year in the Kroger Earning Plus Learning program, so remember to use your Kroger scan sheet (obtained through above link) to re-link your Kroger Plus card at the start of each school year.   You must re-register if the last time you registered was before August 1, 2007.   Once you register, every time you use your "Kroger Plus" card, Kroger will contribute 4% of your eligible purchases toward the fund. If you do not have a "Kroger Plus" card, you may enroll for one at any Kroger Customer Service desk.   Visit http://www.krogerearningpluslearning.com/ for more information.

Publix Partners Card

Each time you shop at Publix and have the cashier scan your Publix Partners Card at checkout; a percentage of your total grocery bill will automatically be credited to East Side's account.   If you need additional Publix cards, they are available at the volunteer desk in the front lobby.   Cards can be used by anyone – relatives, friends and neighbors!   The cards do not expire, but if you are new to East Side, be sure to get a card with East Side's account number on the back so we can get the credit we deserve!

Target Take Charge of Education

Target will donate an amount equal to one percent (1%) of purchases made with your Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card, Target Check Card or Target Business Card at any Target store or Target.com.   Target will donate one-half percent (1/2%) of your Target Visa Credit Card purchases made everywhere else Visa credit cards are accepted. You can designate the East Side Foundation by calling 1-800-316-6142 or by visiting www.target.com/tcoe/ .   Applications are available at any Target store or online at www.target.com/tcoe/ .   Let your family and friends know, too. Anyone in the country who shops with a Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card, Target Check Card or Target Business Card can designate East Side Foundation as their Target School Fundraising Beneficiary.

Washington Mutual WaMoola Program

The WaMoola for Schools program is a program in which enrolled customers can support their local schools every time they make a purchase with their Washington Mutual Debit MasterCard ® . If you are a Washington Mutual customer, you can sign up to have your WaMu Debit Card purchases benefit East Side. You can designate East Side during the enrollment process in person at a financial center.

General Mills' Box Top$ for Education

When you use any General Mills products –- cereals, frozen foods, meals, snacks, you name it –- just clip the official Box Tops for Education coupons and turn them in at the collection bin in the front lobby or put them in the PTA Mailbox.   Each Box Tops coupon is worth 10 cents to our school.   Our school could earn up to $20,000 per year just by clipping Box Tops.   The average household purchases more than 100 Box Tops products each year, which could add up to over $9,000 in earnings for our school, just from clipping.   We can also earn money through the Box Tops Marketplace and the Box Tops Book Club.

Visit www.boxtops4education.com to learn more how you can contribute to East Side just by purchasing everyday grocery and household products.   Participating vendors include: General Mills®, Pillsbury®, Yoplait®, Betty Crocker®, Gold Medal®, Totino's®, Nature Valley®, Pop Secret®, most Fruit Snacks, Hamburger/Tuna/Chicken Helper®, Old El Paso®, and Ziploc®, just to name a few.

The Box Tops for Education Program has provided over $200,000,000 to schools like ours since 1996.   East Side earned $127 from the Box Tops program during the 2006-2007 school year.   However, we are aiming much higher this year -- o ur goal for 2007-2008 is $1,000 .   We are well on our way to reaching that goal – we have already earned $588 and we are only one month into the school year!   Please keep up the good work and help us exceed our goal by clipping Box Tops from your favorite grocery and household supplies.   When everyone's shopping and clipping, the Box Tops add up fast! You can drop off your clipped Box Tops in the marked collection box in the Front Lobby of the school.   Happy clipping!

Campbell's Labels for Education

Labels for Education gives schools free educational equipment in exchange for UPC's and lids from products in the Campbell family of brands. It's easy to do – just collect UPC's and lids from eligible Campbell's Products and then turn them in at the collection bin in the front lobby or put them in the PTA Mailbox.   Remember, only the UPC code is needed, not the entire label.

Some of the products eligible for label redemption in the program include:   Campbell's® soups; Campbell's Supper Bakes® meal kits; Campbell's® or Franco-American® SpaghettiOs® pasta; Campbell's® beans, gravies and canned pasta; Prego® pasta sauces; Swanson® broths and canned poultry; Pace® salsa and picante sauces; V8® vegetable juices and V8 Splash® juice drinks; Campbell's® tomato juice; Pepperidge Farm® breads, cookies, crackers, and frozen products; Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers; and Campbell's® Foodservice products.   Triple your efforts by asking your friends and family to collect labels on behalf of our school.   Together with Campbell's Labels for Education — we can build a better school for our children — one label at a time.   Please visit www.labelsforeducation.com for more information.

Nestle Pure Life Go Play!

Go Play! is a rewards program that helps schools earn points that can be redeemed toward fitness and sports gear, or transportation costs assistance toward hands-on educational field trips, just for collecting labels from bottles of Nestlé Pure Life bottled water products.   Each label is worth 2 Go Play! points and each school has the opportunity to earn up to 1,000,000 Go Play! points.   Complete labels from individual bottles of any Nestlé® Pure Life® product (such as Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water, Nestlé® Pure Life® Natural Fruit Flavored Water Beverages, and Nestlé® Pure Life® Green Tea Refreshers) are eligible.   Only individual bottle labels are eligible, not the outer wrappers from multi-packs.   East Side will be collecting labels until May 31, 2008, so the next time you're out shopping, choose any Nestlé® Pure Life® products and you'll be helping East Side and the community.   To learn more about this program, visit www.goplaylabels.com .

Tyson Foods Project A+

Does anyone in your family eat Tyson chicken nuggets?   Of course they do!   When you clip and save labels from Tyson chicken nuggets and other products that feature the Project A+ logo, East Side can redeem them for cash from Tyson.   In your grocer's freezer section, look for Tyson products that display the Project A+ logo. You may also visit the products page on Tyson's website that lists exactly which items are participating.

Each Tyson Project A+ label has a value of 24¢ when redeemed.   Tyson Foods imposes no restrictions on the use of Project A+ funds. A school may use its earned funds for supplies, equipment, special events, pizza parties, or however it wants.   For more information, visit http://www.tyson.com/projectaplus/ .

Prang Power

All Prang, Dixon and Ticonderoga art and school supplies earn Prang Power Points. Clip the UPC code to earn Prang Power Points.   You can place these UPCs in the Box Tops or Campbell's collection bins in the Front Lobby.   Each Prang, Dixon and Ticonderoga product has a point value of approximately one point per dollar, based on its manufacturers suggested retail price.   With enough Prang Power Points, we can order FREE art and school supplies.   For more information, visit http://www.prangpower.com .

Pike Nursery Greenback Program

Help us receive free landscaping materials for our school campus by “recycling” your Pike's receipts.   Pike Family Nursery donates a percentage of the cash value of the receipts back to East Side in the form of plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, gardening materials, and tools.

When you shop at Pike Family Nurseries, please send your original receipts to school and deposit them in the PTA mailbox in an envelope marked “Pike's.”   Remember to ask gardening friends and neighbors to save their receipts, too.   What an easy way to improve our school's landscaping efforts!   This program allows all of us to help keep East Side beautiful.

Office Depot 5% Back to Schools Program

Every time schools, teachers, students, parents and school supporters give East Side's 5% Back to Schools Program ID number (ID # 70026196) when buying school supplies at Office Depot, we will receive credits equal to 5% of the qualifying purchases to use for free supplies. They should have our ID number at the registers so don't worry if you forget the number.   Generally, basic student school supplies are qualifying purchases.   For example notebook paper, pens/pencils, note pads, binders and much more.   Products that do not qualify are computers, all technology items (including personal digital assistants/PDAs), TVs, all furniture and furniture accessories, some bulk-packaged products (cases of copy paper), ink and toner cartridges, and Office Depot Gift Cards.

Office Depot Exclusive National PTA Recycling Program

Help East Side and the environment with the Office Depot Exclusive National PTA Recycling Program!   We can earn money simply by collecting ink jet and toner cartridges.   Office Depot will pay $2 per usable cartridge to East Side quarterly in the form of an Office Depot® Gift Card.   Please collect your empty ink jet and toner cartridges and deposit them in the school collection boxes (look for them coming soon).   Students, teachers and friends of East Side can also help by collecting any brand of cartridge.   Four reasons to recycle:   (1) If you placed one year's discarded cartridges, end to end, it would stretch 2500 miles; (2) The plastic in a typical toner cartridge needs 1,000 years to decompose; (3) Remanufacturing recycled cartridges requires 80% less energy than manufacturing new plastic; and (4) YOU CAN EARN MONEY FOR EAST SIDE!   Visit http://www.officedepot.com:80/promo.do?file=/promo/pages/pta.jsp for more information.

Staples Recycle for Education

Recycling is a good thing and so is raising money for East Side.   With the Staples Recycle for Education program, you can take care of both. And it's completely FREE!   Staples will donate $3 to East Side for every eligible ink or laser toner cartridge we collect. That's money we can use for anything, including:   School programming, improvements, or whatever the school needs!   Please collect your empty ink jet and toner cartridges and deposit them in the school collection boxes (look for them coming soon).   Visit http://www.staplesrecyclefored.com/ for more information.

What if East Side earned a penny every time you searched the Internet or shopped online?   Well, now we can!   GoodSearch.com is a new search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate.   You use it just as you would any search engine, and it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.   Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter East Side as the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread the word!   A related site, www.GoodShop.com is an online shopping mall of world-class merchants dedicated to helping fund worthy causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to your designated charity or school (hopefully East Side) – averaging approximately 3% of the sale, but going up to 20% or even more.   Since it doesn't cost anything and you get proven search results, there's no reason not to use it!

Family Donation and Corporate Matching

Throughout the year, there will be various opportunities for you to support PTA through fundraisers.   Please feel free to make a tax-deductible donation to PTA in lieu of or in addition to participation in the fundraisers.   Make checks payable to East Side PTA and write "Donation" on the memo line of your check.   All funds are used to support programs for your student.   Here's where the “free to you” part comes in .   Does your employer participate in a matching gift program? If so, please help the East Side PTA benefit from your matching program. Simply ask your human resource department for information, fill out the proper authorization forms and return them to the East Side PTA.
