  ….The Foundation raised over $69,000 in its 1st year   (2005-2006)

  ….Over $19,000 was contributed by corporate donors through matching grants or direct contributions 

  ….the upper grades have a brand new playground (with a safer surface made from recycled tires) thanks to contributions by the Foundation, the county, Ford Corporation and Team Ford of Marietta

  ….a new “6+1” Writing Program will be implemented school-wide in the 2006-2007 school year thanks
  to financial support from the Foundation and PTA.  Currently lacking a coordinated writing curriculum, East Side will now join East Cobb schools such as Sope Creek, Mt. Bethel and Murdock in teaching this program

  ....Chess, Drama and Choi Kwon Do were offered as after school enrichment programs through the Foundation, with over 200 children participating  
 
  ....East Side has a school-wide license to BrainPop thanks to the Foundation and parents can access the site at home (www.brainpop.com; user name:  Eastsidega, password: school)
 
  ….Over 225 people had a great time at the first ever Spring Gala last April and helped raise over $17,000 in the process

  ....Teachers, School Administrators, Student and Parents had an awesome time marching in the East Cobber Parade, riding the Foundation float, munching on Pizza and drinks and dunking teachers and parents at our first annual East Cobber Festival dunk tank.

  ....over 1,000 people enjoyed food, crafts and dancers at the International Extravaganza

  ....families enjoyed dinner and a movie at our East Side movie nights

  ….Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible
