IXL
Math (license supplied courtesy of the East Side

that students play online to improve their math
fluency. Each game builds upon the skills
acquired in previous games and repeated game
play helps students succeed in timed test-taking
(CRCTs will be here before you know it!!) and
helps boost confidence and achievement.
Games can be played on any computer with
internet access (go
to
www.ixl.com and use personal login provided
by your child’s teacher).
ALL players should experience measurable
improvement in numerical fluency, and increased
speed. Most of all, kids learn while
having FUN!

We're taking you
back to the nifty 1950's - a time of poodle
skirts, duck tails and bobby socks! Meet us in
Louise's Luncheonette where we find that
Gracie & her friends are stuck trying to plan
the upcoming Hippity Hop! If only Gracie's
famous rockstar cousin, Ziggy Springer could
perform! Join us at Louise's, and you'll meet
our crazy cast of characters
including Virginia & Donald who work there,
Jughead, the local geek, Gracie, Sinbad & his
"cool-daddy" beatniks, Muffin & the Teen Queens,
even... dare we say... ALIENS?
This delightful romp into DOO WOP land
will have you tapping your toes & dancing in the
isles to some great '50's tunes!
We hope East Side 3-4-5th graders will
consider being a part of this year's show & that
YOU will join us too as

It’s
Not Too Late to Get Your Piece of East Side!
-19 August 2011
If you haven’t already
ordered your brick from the original East Side
school building, you still have a chance to own
a piece of East Side history.
The East Side Foundation salvaged 300
bricks from the demolition and is selling them
for $25.00.
The bricks will have a gold plaque
affixed to them that has Ms. Mavity’s sketch of
the old school and the dates that the school was
open.
It is a great way to remember the time
your family spent as part of the original East
Side.
There are only about 115 bricks
remaining, so if you’d like to order one, please
send an e-mail to
ESEBricks@gmail.com and include your name,
phone number, email address, number of bricks
you’re buying and yes/no that you’re a current
East Side family.
You can pay when you pick up your brick
(pick up details to follow at a later date).
Thanks for your support of the
Foundation!
