Foundation Mission

To enhance the school’s ability to create meaningful, state-of-the-art educational experiences for all students by providing resources beyond those provided by Cobb County or the PTA.

About Us

The East Side Elementary Foundation (created in 2005) is a non-profit organization that raises money for the purpose of improving our school by providing funding for technology, curriculum, and facility improvements at East Side. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.  

How We Raise Money

The Foundation raises money by a Capital Campaign (from October 4 – 22, 2010) where East Side families are asked to donate a minimum of $75 for each child they have that attends East Side. Last year, about 70% of East Side families participated, raising a total of $70,000 to benefit the school. The Foundation also solicits corporate matching donations and direct contributions from corporations in exchange for sponsorships. The Foundation has sponsored other fundraisers in previous years (Candlelight Gala, International Extravaganza, Movie Nights, Bingo Night); however, we intend for the Capital Campaign to be our sole major fundraiser for 2010-2011. We need YOUR support!!

Our Areas of Focus include:

·         Science Lab (Teacher Salary and equipment/supplies)

·         Educational Resources (First In Math, BrainPop, 6+1 Writing Traits Program)  

·         Technology Improvements/Upgrades (hardware and software)

·         Curriculum Enhancements (classroom grant program for all teachers)

·         Facilities Improvements (new playgrounds)

·         New School Needs – Math lab as new “specials” rotation, facilitator for secondary computer lab, obstacle course for new track area
